GCSE PE COURSE- ROAD CYCLING

Updated: Oct 14, 2022

We're a premier GCSE PE Course specialist in Yorkshire and pride ourselves on our high level of expertise, customer service and excellent results.

Our most popular GCSE courses are cycling & climbing but we also deliver a number of other non-GCSE PE activities including hill walking, orienteering, abseiling & high ropes courses, if you'd like to add some additional fun activities.

Our courses were created by the owners of High Adventure, who are former PE teachers and experts in the field. Tim Ferguson, one of the owners, is a published author of a GCSE book.

One of the courses we specialise in is GCSE PE Road Cycling. This is because we are very passionate about cycling at High Adventure and we're ideally placed, being on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, home to the Tour de Yorkshire.

With fabulous, quiet roads on the doorstep and expert instructors, we can deliver safe, challenging and fun road cycling courses that offer something for everyone.

What will your pupils learn on our GCSE PE Road Cycling Course?

As well as gaining experience & confidence on a range of safe, quiet roads in a premier cycling location, your pupils will be taught the following skills:

* Cycling on rollers

* Unassisted start

* Controlled pedalling

* Signalling (one handed)

* Drinking (one handed)

* Sprinting (drops)

* Group riding

* Efficient gearing & breaking techniques

* Through and off

* Chain ganging as technical skills

* Time trial

* Controlled dismount

A brief instructional video, demonstrating some of the skills your pupils will learn on our course.

Where will your pupils stay during their GCSE PE Course?

Your pupils will stay in warm, comfortable dormitory rooms at High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre in Yorkshire, with all meals provided. We have separate teacher rooms with single beds and a dedicated teacher coffee lounge, with comfy leather sofas. We've recently created a new social space that is a great classroom & doubles up as a large cinema room for down time in the evenings.

To get the most out of the course, we recommend a minimum of 2 nights.
