Activity programme for primary schools

When you book a trip with us, we will work to create the best programme for your pupils. We offer 2 & 4 night programmes and your activities can all be on-site making full use of our excellent facilities or can be combined with an exciting range of off-site activities, utilising our minibuses.

Our aim is to deliver a fun & engaging multi-activity residential that builds confidence and introduces children to a range of experiences.

From climbing walls to rock climbing, water sports to bushcraft we have something to suit every primary school looking to offer their pupils a great selection of outdoor activities, with plenty on the list that they will not have experienced before.

Below is a full list of all of our activities and some sample activity programmes, but get in touch and we can tailor a programme just for you.

Abseiling
Abseiling

Our purpose built abseil platform or local rock face provide the venue for this exciting activity.

Archery

A beginner’s course in safe practice and good technique followed by a competition to test new-found skills.

BOULDERING

A great way to get lots of climbing experience. No ropes are used and climbing is limited to boulders so each person gets significantly more done than in a traditional roped session.

Bushcraft

An introduction in the skills needed to survive outdoors!

gcse
Canoeing

We use open canoes and sheltered inland water. The session can be dry and so is good all year around – But it can also be very wet and great fun on a summers day.

Caving

With all appropriate gear and instruction, participants will tour a suitable cave system. This is the most misunderstood and most enjoyed activity. It’s not all crawling and small spaces, it’s about exploring a new environment and having fun.

CIRCUS SKILLS

We use a variety of different equipment ranging from poi and juggling balls to flower sticks and spinning plates; everything you need to put on your very own show!

Climbing

A traditional, roped climbing session either outdoors or indoors in our purpose-built climbing wall.

Gorge Walking

A fabulous outdoor activity which involves scrambling up or down ghylls.

High Ropes

Our exciting vertical course designed to take your group out of their comfort zone and challenge even the bravest of souls. A fantastic team building activity.

Labyrinth

3D underground maze of epic proportions, your group will love exploring the unique labyrinth.

Local Adventure Walk

Our introductory session allows us to view the group in a low-level activity and assess their nature and dynamics.

Low ropes

A roped course where the object is staying off the ground. Lots of fun and very active.

high adventure outdoor education centre secondary school visits
Mountain Activities

Traditional roped climbing session combined with bouldering, stream walk, rope bridge build to provide an active full day out at Ilkley ‘Cow and Calf’ rocks. (on-site version also available)

ORIENTEERING

Following some coaching, participants take part in a competition based at a British Orienteering Federation permanent course.

Raft Building

In teams, participants are given the ‘bits’ required to make a raft. Then it’s time to build and race…then usually swim!

Road Cycling

We teach and help develop cycling skills to build proficiency and confidence.

Stand up Paddle boarding

This is a bit like a cross between surfing and canoeing, you take a big board onto the water, stand up on it and use a paddle to move yourself along.

Sumo wrestling

Come get SUMO this! Plenty of fun in our oversized padded suits...let the battle commence!

TEAM BUILDING

We offer over 25 exciting and fun team building exercises to help build communication, reasoning skills, all whilst building camaraderie.

Zip Wire

Exhilarating adventure for adrenaline junkies.
